Viola M Sporner      April 25, 2009

     Viola M. Sporner, 76, of 412 W. Main Street Warsaw, Indiana, died on 4/25/2009 at 2:41 pm at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was born on July 30, 1932 in Saint Marys, Pennsylvania.

     Viola was born to Joseph and Emma (Cowan) Sporner. In 1946 her family moved to a dairy farm near Plymouth, Indiana. Vi graduated from West High School, Plymouth, Indiana in the class of 1952. She was employed for 25 years at R.R. Donnelley and Sons, Warsaw, Indiana and retired as Tool Crib Technician. Aunt Vi was a favorite of her many nieces and nephews and their families. She was a devout member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church Warsaw, Indiana. Vi enjoyed helping others in her community. She was an avid knitter and bowler and was a member of the Wednesday Morning Coffee Klatch Bowling League. She also loved to travel and took several cruises. Among her favorite cruises was one to Alaska in 2002. Viola was a Warsaw, Indiana resident since 1971. Her parents and seven brothers preceded her in death. They include Robert, Melvin, Raymond, Kenneth, Leonard, Carl and Leroy Sporner. Viola was also preceded by a nephew, Michael Sporner. She is survived by her loving family, including a sister Bernice Pomeroy of South Bend, Indiana; several nieces and nephews including, Jane Pomeroy of South Bend, Indiana; Nancy Pomeroy of Powell, Tennessee; John (Cheri) Pomeroy of Elkhart, Indiana; Rebecca (Dave) Hamann of South Bend, Indiana; Steve (Renee') Pomeroy of Niles, Michigan; Susan (Mike) Krontz of Bremen, Indiana; Patrick (Margaret) Sporner of Plymouth, Indiana; Phillip Sporner of Plymouth, Indiana; Brian (Trish) Sporner of Bourbon, Indiana; Daniel Sporner of Bremen, Indiana; Scott Sporner of Osceola, Indiana; Andrew Sporner of Germany; Robert Sporner of Palm Springs, California; and Jennifer (Kevin) Vance of Rock Hill, South Carolina. In addition, Viola is survived by a sister-in-law Patricia Sporner of Plymouth, Indiana and many great nieces and nephews. Monsignor James Wolf of Sacred Heart Catholic Church Warsaw, Indiana will officiate the Funeral Mass. A Rosary Service will be held Tuesday night at 7:30 pm at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel Warsaw, Indiana.
     Graveside Services following the Funeral Mass will be held at Oakhill Cemetery Plymouth, Indiana at 12:15 PM on Wednesday, April 29, 2009.

     Services will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church Warsaw, Indiana on Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at 10:00 AM. Calling hours will be 2:00-4:00 PM and 6:00-8:00 PM with the Rosary at 7:30 PM on Tuesday, April 28, 2009. Burial will be at 12:15 PM Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at Oakhill Cemetery Plymouth, Indiana.
