Joseph William "Bill" Mueller      November 19, 2011

     Joseph William “Bill” Mueller, 77, died at 5 a.m. Nov. 19, 2011, in Mason Health and Rehabilitation Center, Warsaw.
     He was born May 15, 1934, in LaSalle, Ill., to Joseph William and Sally Lesczyinski Mueller.  On June 13, 1959, in Chicago, Ill., he married Irene Ottolino, who survives.
     He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving from 1956-59; served a second tour of duty entering the U.S. Army on Oct. 9, 1961, Peru, Ill.; served during The Berlin Crisis.  SSGT Joseph William Mueller was honorably discharged Aug. 12, 1962, in Fort Lee, Va.  He was an agent for Bankers Life & Casualty, Chicago, for 34 years, retiring in 1996.  He was a 1952 graduate of LaSalle/Peru High School, LaSalle, Ill.  He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church; American Legion Post 960, Lake Zurich, Ill.; and Knights of Columbus.  He enjoyed playing cards; was an all sports enthusiast; and was an amazing grandpa and a remarkable dad.  He will be greatly missed by his family and friends – especially by Irene, his wife of 52 years.
     Also surviving are two daughters, Mary Jo Mueller, Warsaw, and Sally Jo (and spouse Thomas) Payne, Yorkville, Ill.; a son, William Joseph (and spouse Jean) Mueller, Aurora, Ill.; six grandchildren: Krista Katris, Kylee Brown, Miranda Mueller, Joshua Payne, Michael Mueller and Jessica Payne; two brothers, Robert James (and spouse Charleen) Mueller, LaSalle, Ill., and Bruce Anthony (and spouse Sophie) Mueller, South Barrington, Ill.; and a stepbrother, Robert (and spouse Karen) Basalay, Richmond, Va. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph William Mueller, and his mother, Sally Mueller Basalay.
     Services will be at noon (EST) Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Warsaw, officiated by Father Philip Devolder of the church. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
     Calling is from 11 a.m. to noon (EST) Monday at the church.
     Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, is in charge of arrangements.
