Baker-Mary-Lou.jpg     Mary Lou Baker, 89, of Warsaw, Indiana, passed away Thursday February 14, 2019, at 9:15 a.m. at Grace Village Retirement Community, Winona Lake, Indiana.  She was born on May 5, 1929, to Floyd V. and Pauline (Dorgan) Hyre in Wayne County, Indiana.  She grew up in Winchester, Indiana, then moving to Warsaw in 1962 where she has been a resident for over 50 years.

     Mary Lou was united in marriage on August 18, 1949, to Max G. Baker in Winchester, Indiana.  Max passed away on April 2, 2003.  She has worked for Miller Jones Shoe Co. and then retired from JoMac as a knitting machine operator after 20 years of service.  She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Phi Gamma Nu Sorority, American Legion Auxiliary, and Senior Citizens of Kosciusko County, all of Warsaw.

     Mary Lou is survived by her children, Mike (Cheryl) Baker of Burket, Indiana, Larry (Rita) Baker of Warsaw, Gary Baker of Austin, Texas, John Baker of North Webster, and Jim (Theresa) Baker of Round Lake, Illinois; grandchildren, Jenny, Marsha, Terra, Michelle, Biangca and Matt; 13 great grandchildren; a sister Jane Oler of Mary Ester, Fl and brother David Hyre of Destin, Florida.  In addition, numerous grand-children and great-grandchildren survive.  She was preceded by parents, her husband, three brothers, and two sisters.

     A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, February 21, 2019, at 11:00 AM in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Warsaw.  Father Jonathon Norton will celebrate the Mass.  Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 20, 2019, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with a Rosary Service recited at 7:30 PM.  Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, Indiana.

     The family is requesting that memorial contributions be made to Sacred Heart Catholic School, 135 North Harrison Street, Warsaw, Indiana   46580.
