     Martin J. Delaney was born in Logansport on November 15, 1938.  He was employed at the Kroger Store.  He was a passenger in a car driven by classmate Richard Goltry that crashed just after midnight on Saturday, April 25, 1959.  They were on their way to Peru driving east on U.S. Highway 24, just west of the railroad overpass.  Richard lost contol of the new Renault and slid across the center line colliding headon with a station wagon.  State Trooper John Gaylor was following the station wagon containing a young couple coming home from a prom.  Ambulances were called immediately and took all four injured persons to St. Joseph Hospital in Logansport.  Marty died at 8:07 pm that night of injuries sustained in the accident.  Richard died just two hours after the accident.  The couple in the wagon were finally released from the hospital.

     Martin J. Delaney 20, was born in this city Nov. 15, 1938, son of Martin and Anna Robinson Delaney.  A graduate of the Logansport High School in 1958 he was employed at the Kroger store.
     Survivors are his father and stepmother, Mr. and Mrs. M. J. Delaney; his mother, Mrs. Anna Delaney, Greenwich. Connecticut; his grandfather, C. P. Delaney, 1318 Spear; an uncle, Edward Delaney, Ft. Wayne; two aunts: Mary Collier, Brooksville, Mrs. Mary Quick, Greenwich, Connecticut.
     Friends may call at the Kroeger funeral home after 7 p.m. this evening.  The Rosary will be recited there at 7:30 p.m. Monday.
     Final services will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday at St. Vincent's church, with the Rt. Rev. Msgr. John P. Schall officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's cemetery, Delphi.
